Being a major Chiefs fan, it’s not easy to enjoy time spent in a division rival’s stadium; however, I must admit that
the Denver Broncos were great hosts to the recent NFL Cheerleader Director’s annual conference. And while our
assistant director, Nanette and I attended these informative meetings, the rest of my staff has been busy coordinating
audition classes, planning our youth schedule for 2007, and preparing to say goodbye to our talented and wonderful
2006-07 Chiefs Cheerleaders at our annual awards banquet.

AUDITIONS … ARE THEY SCARY?
One of the questions we’re often asked, as if there is a scary surprise lurking somewhere, is simply, “What
are auditions really like?” Candidates tell the story best, as in this note we just received about our first workshop
this past Saturday:
“I just recently attended the Chiefs Cheerleaders try-out clinic on March 3. First I just really wanted to
commend the entire staff and the girls for a job well done! I’m sure you guys hear this all the time, but it was
so refreshing to go into something like that as nervous as I did and be put completely at ease about the whole
process. I mean obviously, nothing can really erase those inevitable audition jitters, but I feel much more
confident and relaxed after having heard all the positive reinforcement and advice given by all the women there.” -

CHEERLEADERS ON THE AIR
There’s a lot of football talk these days with free agency and the
draft coming up, and a lot of Chiefs Cheerleaders are doing on-air interviews. Fresh from an appearance on the KMBZ
Darla Jaye Show, Laura told us “Darla’s show was great fun. I love talking with fans about the latest Chiefs news plus
our upcoming cheerleader auditions!”
The 37th annual 101 Awards Banquet, our cities black-tie tribute to football’s finest, was held this past Saturday
evening at the Westin Crown Center Hotel. Chiefs Cheerleader, Trisha congratulated the football legends as she handed
them their awards for their significant contributions to America’s favorite sport. Trisha is shown here with
coach of the year honoree, Sean Payton of the New Orleans Saints.
