Kansas City Claims LB Vince Redd off Waivers from New England
Aug 04, 2009, 5:24:31 PMThe Kansas City Chiefs announced on Tuesday that the club has claimed LB Vince Redd off waivers from New England.
Redd (6-6, 260) played in five games and was inactive for one contest for New England in 2008 after beginning the year on the club’s practice squad. He recorded two solo tackles, a pass defensed and six special teams stops. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with the Patriots in 2008.
The Elizabethton, Tennessee native tallied 63 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two INTs in 2007 at Liberty. Redd was a prep standout at Elizabethton High School, registering 104 career tackles. He also lettered in basketball as well as track and field.
The Chiefs waived G Edwin Harrison on Tuesday. Harrison spent the 2008 campaign on the Chiefs practice squad after entering the NFL as a rookie free agent with Kansas City.
