Charles in Charge: With 102 yards, RB Jamaal Charles recorded his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game, the longest streak by a member of the Chiefs since RB Larry Johnson had four straight 100-yard rushing games (11/19/06 – 12/10/06). Charles now has four 100-yard games on the season and five for his career. He has 399 rushing yards in his last three contests, an average of 133.0 yards per game.

Succop’s Surpassed Stenerud for KC Rookie FG Record: K Ryan Succop hit his 22nd FG of the season, surpassing Hall of Fame K Jan Stenerud (21) for the most made FGs by a rookie in Chiefs history. Succop now has 90 points on the year, the third-highest tally by a rookie kicker in team history. Succop also has 24 made PATs, tying as the fourth-highest tally by a Chiefs rookie.

Third-Down Offense: The Chiefs converted a season-high 46.6% (7 of 15) third downs, the club’s best total since going 50.0% (6 of 12) vs. San Diego (12/14/08).

Defensive Stats: The Chiefs permitted 17 points or less for the fifth time this season. Kansas City allowed 10 net passing yards in the first half, Kansas City’s best total since permitting 10 in the second half at Cincinnati (12/28/08).

Takeaway Stats: The Chiefs have forced at least one takeaway in eight consecutive games and have recorded an INT in four straight games, the club’s best streak since posting a four-game streak (10/26/08 – 11/16/08). S Jon McGraw registered his first INT of the season and the fifth of his career. His 27-yard return was a career long.

Colquitt Climbs The Charts: P Dustin Colquitt has a franchise-record 39 punts inside the 20, tying as the third-highest single-season total in NFL history. He now has a team-record 143 career punts inside the 20.

Forged in Castille: RB Tim Castille scored his first NFL touchdown on a 20-yard reception from QB Matt Cassel. Cassel has 16 TDs on the season.

Sack Stats: DE Wallace Gilberry recorded a sack in the second quarter, giving him 4.5 on the season.

Deflected Punt: TE Jake O’Connell deflected a P Kevin Huber punt. It was the second deflected punt of the season for the Chiefs. O’Connell also recorded his first NFL reception in the game.

Bowe’s Streak Continues: WR Dwayne Bowe has caught a pass in 34 consecutive games dating back to a contest vs. Denver (11/11/07), the longest active receiving streak of any Chiefs player.

Kickoff Return Stats: Kansas City has returned 75 kickoffs in 2009, tying as the second-highest seasonal total in franchise history. Kansas City’s 1,621 kickoff return yards rank as the third-highest seasonal tally in team annals.
